Real World Modern Warfare 2 Maps Highlight of Call of Duty Convention
. "When we decided to do this we went all in. There will be some pretty remarkable spectacle at this event."Tickets for Activision's two day Call of Duty XP convention, which take place on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, go on sale on July 19 at $150 a pop, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit set up by Activision to help veterans find jobs when they leave the service.
Activision expects to sell 7,000 tickets. If they do sell that many tickets it would raise a little more than $1 million for the endowment. Activision raised about $1 million for CODE last year during the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops The two-day Call of Duty XP event will take place in Los Angeles but Hirshberg declined to say where, only noting that the location was like "stepping into the video game" before they had done anything to it. Activision public relations describe the venue as a 12-acre compound in the "urban confines of Los Angeles." The event will give attendees a chance to attend a number of panels and keynotes about the franchise and see "triple a closing acts" for both days. But the real attraction will likely be the chance to play Call of Duty , armed with paintball guns. In the game Scrapyard is a map built around an aircraft boneyard, complete with fuselages that players can run through. The Pit is a time trial with pop-up wooden enemies and civilians. All events will be covered by the $150 entry fee, but it won't include things like food, which can be purchased at a replica Burger Town, a fast-food restaurant that appears in Modern Warfare 2 Those who can't make the event, miss out on tickets, or simply can't afford to go will still be able to watch much of what is unveiled and shown at the convention online, Hirshberg said. He said there will be a "free global digital experience for fans" that will include high production videos of key notes, panels, discussions and behind-the-scenes specials. Of course, none of that will match the experience of tapping a paintball into the helmet of a pal camping in the rusting wreckage of an airplane. Call of Duty XP will be the first video game convention dedicated to a franchise that is not only real-world, but violent. I asked Hirshberg if he was concerned that the upcoming event would be perceived as reveling in the violence of war.

Keys to the Armory - Earth and Moon | World of Warcraft Trading ...
A lot has changed recently in the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.
In North America, we have a brand new champion whose weapon of choice was a rabbit infestation that can only lose when it collapses on itself. We also learned about a new Shaman brew born from the New Jersey turnpike which spends its time shuffling its hand to the graveyard in order to unearth incendiary spells and spiders that tower over the opposition. Then there was the Warlock hero piloted by a former World Champion which proved that demons are still relevant, even if their Master Hero has not entered the battle field since before the Wrath of the Lich King and the shattering of Azeroth.
The Top 8 of NACC 2011 featured a wide ranging collection of talent and unique decks which will give players everywhere plenty to consider at their local Battlegrounds and abroad. While conventional wisdom says that this author should be spending his precious few pages of space breaking down the crème de la crème from Las Vegas, instead I am going to dive into a deck you likely did not hear about. The reason for this is simple. The pilot—yours truly—did not win the NACC. He did not even make day two.
Leading up to the Continental Championship, I had every resource and advantage a player could hope to have. I shared a house with Brad Watson, Dan Clark, Ben Isgur, Stuart Wright and others—all of whom had well defined ideas about the tournament and each of whom had powerful options in their arsenal I could have chosen to pilot.
Instead I decided to do something strange.
Rather then sleeve up one of the many amazing decks which were laid in front of me on a silver platter, I did something irrational. I built a completely new deck on the eve of the tournament and despite—or perhaps because of—the warnings of my fellow friends and card floppers, I pushed forward with a design where both the Earth and Moon meet and Moonfire is abundant.
Hero: Arturius Hathrow
Allies: 10 Limited, then you have played against this deck. The concept is rather simple; equip the Worgen hero with Earth and Moon and a way to heal damage each turn. The three card combo allows the Druid to keep damage off all while machine gunning opposing allies and heroes. Arturius Hathrow is a highly synergistic deck which tries to interact with its opponent multiple times each and every turn. While some of the synergies are obvious—such as Regrowth plus the hero flip—others require a bit of an explanation.
