Pa. Senate Approves 'Beer To Go' Bill For Musikfest
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Senate has approved a bill that would make sure you can take your beer to go at Musikfest. The bill includes an amendment from Pa. Sen. Lisa Boscola, D-Monroe and Northampton counties. It would allow bars and taverns to sell beer-to-go during Musikfest and other festivals in Bethlehem. Last year, state Liquor Control Enforcement agents threatened to put a stop to the open container tradition at Musikfest, but Boscola said it's never been a problem. Los Angeles, CA – June 29, 2011 – The Steve Miller Band has kicked off their U.S. summer concert tour in support of band’s new studio album Let Your Hair Down, available now, on Miller’s Space Cowboy Records in partnership with Roadrunner/Loud & Proud Records. The band’s 20-plus date outing will take them coast-to-coast from California to New York with stops everywhere in between from Denver to Salt Lake City, Chicago to Detroit, wrapping up August 13.
Recently, the Steve Miller Band wrapped a spring tour outing with Gregg Allman, recorded an exclusive live in-studio session with WXPN for an episode of the nationally syndicated NPR program World Cafe, and taped the first show of the coming season of the television music series, “Austin City Limits,” before a sold-out audience at the new Austin City Limits theatre in Austin, TX. The episode slated to air this fall features an array of classic hits and new songs from the forthcoming new studio album.
The new album Let Your Hair Down, which Rolling Stone called a “joyous trip through his blues-rock past,” caps one of the busiest years of Miller’s accomplished career. In addition to the release last year of the acclaimed first new Steve Miller Band album in seventeen years, BINGO! (“cause for celebration,” said The Huffington Post), Miller not only led a sold out tour across the United States and Canada, but returned to Europe for the first time in more than twenty-five years for a triumphant round of dates culminating in a sold out Royal Albert Hall concert in London.
