Padres prospect receives 50-game drug suspension

Outfielder Donavan Tate, who began the year with the TinCaps and is with San Diego’s short-season A team in Eugene, Ore., was suspended for 50 games for violating Major League Baseball’s drug prevention and treatment program, MLB announced Tuesday.
